Internet Service Providers

SiFi Networks enables ISPs to deliver their services on state-of-the-art, citywide fiber to the premise networks without the expense of having to build, maintain or operate their own infrastructure. ISPs can grow their business profitably by reaching new customers easily, quickly and without capital investment.

SiFi Networks is an infrastructure developer, operator and wholesaler who secures long term access agreements to municipal public rights-of-way (ROW) for the private finance, construction, operation and maintenance of citywide fiber to the premise (FttP) networks. Such networks are available to ISPs, creating an expedited route to mass-market expansion without the associated capital cost of entry.

SiFi Networks constructs citywide open access networks under its FiberCity® brand passing 100% of premises within a city in a 24-month timeframe. When the occupier purchases one or many services from an ISP on the network the premise is connected with fiber through a residential gateway.

Furthermore, each FiberCity® community lacks comparable high-speed service offerings and is typically served by a single telco and cableco.

SiFi has partnered with PATRIZIA and APG, Europe’s largest pension fund, through the Smart City Infrastructure Fund which provides SiFi with financial backing for the delivery of its FiberCity ® projects.

FiberCity® Structure

SiFi Networks works with cities to sign into a long-term Development Agreement, which permits SiFi and its project partners public right-of-way access to every street throughout the city from day one, to build, operate and maintain a FttP network.

The municipality has no control, ownership or investment in any aspect of the network or its operation, other than approval of

construction permit, which is agreed as a citywide master permit during city council approval of the Development Agreement.

The entire infrastructure from the backhaul, to the OSP, to the ONT/residential gateway at the premise is 100% privately financed, operated and maintained by SiFi and its project partners.

Open access is the future!

Nearly 80 million Americans effectively have no choice in their ISP and more than a third of the nation operates in either a market dominated by a monopoly or duopoly. This problem is solved with open access networks giving consumers more choice and narrowing the digital divide.

As with many models, shared services work. In the case of FTTP Networks, why build a network rather than utilize an existing one; especially when the quality and reliability of the existing one cannot be beaten.

SiFi takes care of the fiber network from agreeing the required access with the municipality followed by feasibility, design, plan and construction right through to the ongoing maintenance and operation of the network from the datacentre to the Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).

Service providers can now focus on their product offering and the delivery of excellent customer service without the traditional barriers associated with entering new markets.
